Tuesday, OcToriEii 8\ The Speaker took the chair at 2.30 p.m. The Premier moved that the order for the debate on tlie rep'ori of Colonel Fox and that of the Printing Debates Committee with regard to Hansard be discharged from the paper, as well as the following Bills : — Eoads Validation, Distress Amendment, Betterments, Shearers' Accommodation;, Arsenic and Gya nide of Potassium importation 1 arid* Carriage, Sale of Poisons, Tongariro National Park, Noxious Weeds, Auctioneers Act Amendment, Cooperative Works, Labour Department, Imprisonment for Debt Abolitidri, and the following private Bills i — Legislative Officers' Salaries, Elective Executive, Eoad Boards Act Amendment, Pharmacy, Gum and Gumfields, Women's Suffrage, Property Law Consolidation, LicenS' ing Act Amendment, Manual and Technical Elementary Instruction, Public Schoals ( Corrupt Practices Prevention Act Amendment, Direct Veto, Coroner's Inquests, Alcoholic Liquor, and Importation or Manufacture of Intoxicating Liquors Prohibition. • . . - . ■ The motion was agreed to. The Premier said he intended to go on with the Libel Bill. The amendment made by the Governor's message Jn the Criminal Code Bill was agreed to. The report of. the conference, announcing that a compromise had been arrived at concerning the Native Laad Validation of Titles Bill, was adopted. In the Mining Act Amendment Bill, the amendments made by the Goldfields and Mines Committee were carried, and on the motion of Mr Eolleston a clause was added stipulating that particulars of advances under the Bill should be laid before Parliament. The Bill was read a third time and passed. On the question of committing the Native Land Purchase and Acquisi* tion Bill, The Native members opposed the Bill but the committal was carried and after amendments reported from committee read a third time and passed. The House adjourned at 2.35 a.m.
