Manawatu Rowing Club.
A committee meeting of the above (Hub was held at Whyte's Hotel on Monday evening.
Messrs Stansell, Aitken, McCloskey, Bradcock, Bridge and Hinchcliffe attended. Mr B ban sell was voted to the chair. It was proposed by Mr McCloikey, and seconded by Mr Bradcock — That the secretary be instructed to see Mr Nixon re his resignation.
The following accounts were passed for payment : — McMillan, Rhodes & Co. 7s 9d, A. Webb £2 15s, W. Ingram £1. '
It was resolved to pay Norton's account as soon as the Club was in funds.
Mr Bradcock proposed, and Mr Biidge seconded — That no boats of any description be bought this season.
As an amendment to which it was proposed by Mr Ait ken, and seconded by Mr Hinchliffe — That the recommendation of the general meeting be carried out, viz., that two pleasure boats be bought if iunds are available, if not one boat be bought. After a long discussion a division was called for resulting in a tie, and the chairman gave his casting vote for the amendment.
Proposed by Mr Biidge, and se conded by Mr Bradcock — That a race in the inrigged boats be pulled by .j new members for jerseys. The entries to be not less than six, and the course to be from Duncan's to jetty at boatshed. Carried. - It was resolved that the fines re-^ corded against Bradcock and Shadbolt be paid, and the money returned.
Proposed by Mr Bradcock, and seconded by Mr Bridge— That the opening be held on Tuesday week, the details of procession to be left to a sub-committee of three, viz., the seoretary, treasurer, and Mr Ait ken. Carried.
A vote of thanks to ths chair con* eluded the wiring's busineii.
