The Scotch miners are striking

The coal owners express regret at the miners declining arbitration. Nearly half the Welsh miners have returned to work. The stiikers in Derbyshire at tempted to wreck express, goods and excursion trains on the Midland Railway. The miners of Nottinghamshire are raising a loan of 5 per cent, repayable in three mouths, in support of the men on strike. The strikers let loose a truck on the Midland Railway at Erkington, but a signalman gave warning just in time to prevent a crowded excursion train from being wrecked.
