English Strikes.
The coal owners refuse to withdraw the notices of the proposed reduction in wages. The miners who are on strike in Staffordshire are parading the country, terrifying and assaulting the workers and destroying property. The Lancers have arrived at Stoke. Fifty thousand Welsh miners remain on strike, but the military keep them in check.
