A-Gatrilemen, :* i '' V: lh* presenting the fourth annual report 'Slid balance-sheet your committee lias much " pleasure in congratulating you on another successful season. MEMBERSHIP. The season has been marked by a large increase of members, their having been thirty-nine new members elected, thirty-five of whom paid up, thus bringing the total paying membership up to sixty-four, being an increase of twenty-one on last year. N.Z.A.B. ASSOCIATION. Early in the season the Club took the very desirable step of joining the New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association, which gives it the privilege of oompeting at other regattas and voting at all their meetings. CI-TJU EACES. . racing fpr the season was opened r.^fttt'* new members' pair-oared inrigger ' yW&fpVtapair of Club jerseys, ' foje which six crews entered. After sbmegooa racing they were won by F. Shudboltrjind H. Bradcpok. The next event jvas' for Mr Hqnter's Cup, when twenty-four entries ■were received, but the acceptances only numbered ten. On the whole the finishes , during this series were not so good as usual, though the winner, J. H. Howan, rowed some very good races. Later on it was deotded—with Mr Hunter's permission— to • let the winners row off for the final posse'safan of the Cup. Four out of the five •winners faced the starter, the result. being that T. Nye was judged aal winner, but ..a being lodged the Committee thought 1 itUdvisftble to obtain the Association's dethereon* and accordingly referred the .matter to them, but so far the decision has - ♦ not yet been given. To close the season *Mr J.R. Stansell presented two handsome salad bowls, set in oak, for a pair-oared ' «fttriggev, raoe. This event brought out . , 'nine crews.,, and- during the: racing 1 some very 'dose finishes were seen. The final vnicej' which was rowed on St. Patrick's 'Day, resulted in a win for J. The "Diolly Varden, " VwmfiS' was useless last, season, has, been . inverted into. . jk useful practice boat at the small cpst of "JfilO, and has been.alterfid so %^ff^ carry Twp heavy , boats ' were purchase 5 * frbhi Mr Hillary to supply the-4eniand for boats ; unfortunately one of these- boats' turned out badly, but the Qth^.li's.bj^en. made good use of, and is ftilLia good working order. -"••The twoinrigged boats "Nikau'* and VBtt4*".have been thoroughly overhauled, cleaned^,- painted and varnished, and will be jeadylor use on the opening day of the peason. ;'*"' "j?
