A Little Hero.
Midshipman Lanyon, who refused to quit the Admiral on the bridge of the Victoria, was a native of Belfast. His name was Herbert Maraden Lanyon, and he was the second son of Mr Herbert 0. Lanyon, a member of the firm of Dulton and Co., flax merchants, Belfast. He wa3 only 16 years of age, and so will take a high class in the list of boy heroes. He went from the Greenock Collegiate School to H M.S. Britannia, and when he left her he joined the fatal Victoria. Young Lanyon was a dashing, spirited fellow, with a passionate love for the Navy, and it was in consequence of this that his parents allowed him to choose it as a profession.
