The best way to poison rabbits is to turn over small turfs, and then lay the grain, as it is well known rabbits , wept to newly turned-up ground, and it also added to the efficiency of the grain. Mr Lance, of Horsley Downs in the South Island has put up. the strongest and most effective fence against rabbits, but it cost him £230 a mile. The fence consisted of 1\ x f standards, 2 j x2|x' £ strainers, 1£ x £ intermediates, three No. 4 wires, and barb-wire on top, IJ x 42 x 14 gua'gerietting, with a narrow piece projecting from top of netting on outside, about 9 inches wide, attached to small arms from each standard, and a barb wire on outside to prevent stock rubbing against it.
