Foxton Racing Club.

The annual meeting of the above Club was held at the Club's office, Foxton, last night. There was a good attendance of members and Mr J. E. Nixon was Toted to the chair. Your Committee have much pleasure in submitting to yon the eleventh annual report and balancesheet of the above Club. The receipts from all sources including a balance from the previous year of £77 6s 7d amounts to £.1230 7s 3d, and the expenditure -^IQI7 16s lOd, leaving a credit balance of £212 10s sd. About £100 has been spent in improvements on the leourleQ |tjOO has been paid away in staEes, "the remaining items are shown •on the balance-sheet, the' principal of .which are printing, advertising, Secretary's honorarium and band. We are glad to report that . during the past year, the Club has been financially more successful than' in any previous year, the present substantial balance being a sufficient proof of this. The membership has increased and there are now 48 members' as against some 29 last year. Several improvements on the course would in your committee's opinion, be beneficial to the Club, and to facilitate matters, they have had two plans drawn, one is a

sketch of the exaci positions of the various buildings on the course at the present time, the other shows the proposed improvement:'. An estimate of the cost has been made and it will be within our means to carry out the work. In conclusion your committee would like to place on record its appreciation of the valuable support accorded to the Club by its officials. The report was adopted. The Secretary then read the following.

The balance-sheet was adopted. The following new members were elected, viz,, Dr Dernier, E. D. -Davis, G. Gray and T. Redmond. The- officers appointed were reeleeted, F. Robinson, president; E. S. Thynne, vice-president ; H. F. Davidson, judge ; H. Gillies, starter ; W. Robinson, treasurer ; A. E. Nixon, timekeeper ; J. R. McMillan, secretary. Mr Coyle was proposed as handicapper, but as an amendment Mr Henry was proposed. Mr Coyle was, after a division, duly elected. Mr George Gray was elected Clerk of the Soales, and Mr Youn* reelected Clerk of the Course. Committee— Messrs Williams, J. Davies, S. Trask, A. Btran#, W. 3J. Rhodes, J. H. Robinson, P. Dudson, J. Whyte, W. T. Little, and J. Ahem. It was resolved that Messrs Thynne,. Williams and the Secretary be a committee to arrange fo^ the annual dinner which is to take place next month. It was resolved that the committee have authority to spend £100 on improvements on the course. It was proposed, but not carried, that the charge for ladies to the grand stand be reduced to two shillings and sixpence. It was proposed that 7s 6d be charged to grand stand and saddling paddook combined, but it was lost. It w,as agreed to increase the Secretary's honorarium to fifteen guineas a meeting. The usual vote of thanks to the chair concluded a satisfactory meeting.
