The Prohibition league had a meeting in Palmer6ton on Thursday evening, and, during the discussion, the good intentions of this excellent body towards us was made known, According to the Timet' report, Mr R. Bush mentioned that the .'■ temperance party in Foxton intended bringiog out a Prohibition candidate, and be thought possibly the Palmer* ston League could give., them apra^ support. "'"'. :'.*:'.'■■: n\J\j The chairman (Mr Stubbs), said he had spoken to two gentlemen from the Sandon distriotwhen in Welling) ton recently, and they were:of tbje opinion that, it would be useless bringing out a Liberal candidates because he would have no chance whatever against the % Opposition candidate. Mr B. Bush- was also' of the same opinion. He had been informed that Mr V. C. . Bansom^ jujd^^fr^ James ileid would be suitable candidates, and he moved, That as a League -they gi\e -the temperance party at Foxton all' the support they possibly could. Seconded by Mr Llewellyn and Carried.
