Gorton & Son's Stock Report.
We held a large and successful stock sale at our Bulls yards on Wednesday. Larger entries of cattle came forward than were advertised, and we had full entries of sheep. The attendance was large, bidding spirited, and all the oattle were sold excepting 2 small pens, and most of the sheep. Our quotations are : —
Cattle— Beef, £8 15s to £7 6s ; forward bullocks, £5 ss ; fat heifers, £5 5s ; springing heifers, £4 15s : 2^ year heifers, £3 9s ; weaners< and yearlings mixed, £2 4s 6d ; weancrs mixed, 33s to 36s 6d ; calves, 15s 6d ; milkers, £5 2s to £6 15s.
Sheep. — Fat wethers, 13s Id; wethers, 12s Id to 12s 3d ; young ewes in lamb, various prices from, 11s 9d to 13s ; forward ewes, 8s 3d ; fat ewes, 9s 6<i to 10s ; breeding ewes various prices from, 5s to 9s ; shorn ewe hoggets, 10s 4d ; hoggets mixed various prices from 8s 4d to 9s Id ; 3 and 4 -year Lincoln ewes in lamb, 12s 6d.
