As an outcome of the slaughter of a cow by Mohammedans at Azinghur, in the North-west Provinces, riots broke out in the town, and the police were compelled to fire on the mob. Troops have been summoned to the scene of the disorder, and the situation is being regarded as serious. English ladies and children resident in the district have been sent away to a place where they will be afforded greater security.
