Parliamentary Notes.

Thursday was the Premier's 48th birthday, and a number of Mr Seddoh's friends, including members of both Houses, assembled at the Parliamentary Buildings on Thursday night to wish him many happy returns of the day. The toast of Mr Seddon's health, proposed by the Hon T. Kelly, was received with en thusiasm. Other toasts, inoluding the health of Mrs Seddon and of the new Legislative Councillors, were also responded to. , the newly-appointed whips of the Liberal Party are Messrs Lawry and C. Ward is to introduce the Bank Accounts Audit Bill, providing for a State audit of bank accounts, the Civil Service Insurance Bill, and a Bill providing for a formal amendment of the Payment of Members TAot. The report of Colonel Fox ooncerning the Volunteer forces is likely to be laid on the table on Tuesday. , ' The' correspondence between the two Speakers and the Government concerning the proposal to utilise the. time Of officers of Parliament during the recess was submitted to boJjlT on Thursday.
