Football.

Paiaka y. Shannox. The Paiaka team went over to Shannon on Saturday last to play their first match. Shannon won the toss and elected to play down hill. The first part of the game was fairly even, though Shannon were forced to touch down several times, and it was not till nearly half time that Cleaver managed to get in and secure a try for Paiaka. The kick at the goal by 0. Gardner, though a failure, was a capifal effort considering the position he was in. At half-time the Paiaka men played better together, and managed to secure another try (Cleaver), which was converted into a splendid goal by Oswold Gardner Before "no side " was called Chancy secured another gaol from a place kick, thus leaving Paiaka victors by eleven points to nil. Oswald Gardner, Cleaver, and McPhun played best for the victors, while Gascsigne showed up most conspicuously for Shannon.
