i • The ordinary monthly meeting of tne above Board commenced on Monday evening.^ Present — Messrs Notman (in the chair), Panson, Bridge, Ross, Beckett, Fry, and Hurley. Minutes. — The -minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Appointments. The following appointments were dealt with in Committee : — Halcombe.— The selectiou of Mr S. Strachan, of Feilding, as head teacher, was confirmed. Feilding — The selection of Miss Amy Burnett, as assistant teacher, was confirmed. Kairanga. — The selection of D. Martin, of Makirikiri, as teacher | was confirmed. ■ Palmerston.— Anuie Caster was was appointed cadet to College-street School, 'I he resignation of Miss Moore, cadet, of College-street, was received. The selection by the Committee of Mr Mitchell, as assistant teacher, was confirmed. Oroua Bridge. — Mr R. R. Stonehouse to remain. Ordinary business was then resumed. Cash Statement. - The cash statement showed : —Building account (overdrawn). £1,442, 12s Id ; liabili- j ties, £373 17s; total £1,816 9s Id ; General account (credit), £391 Is Id; leaving a deficiency of £1,425 Bs. ' School Commissioner. — Sir J. Dulhie was appointed School Com missioner on behalf of the Board at Wellington. Carnarvon. — Application re moving desks and classroom to be considered when in funds. Pohangina.-— It was resolved that a new oven be supplied. Moiitoa. —An application for use of schoolhouse was granted to Mr Patterson. It was resolved that an aided school be granted to Montoa, provided the teacher appointed is satisfactory to the inspector. Palmerston. — An application was received ro fence at Terrace End. Resolved to ask for an estimate of cost, and why fence similar to that in College-street would not do. Bulls. — Resolved to grant half cost of fencing. After some further committee business the Board rose. — Chronicle.
