Pbesident— J. G Wilson, Esq., M.HR. Vice President— Walter G. Robinson, Esq Judge— E. S. Thynne, Esq. Startebs— Messrs H. Bradcock and F. Keen. Handicappers— The Committee. Committee — Messrs S. Trask, H. Border, W S. Stewart, W. B. Rhodes, B. Spel;nan, W. Gerbes, P. Dudson and T. P. Williams. These sports were held yesterday on the Foxton race-course under any but pleasant circumstances, as the day was very wet, so wet but that few people believed the Sports would have been held. The Committee, out. of consideration to the competitors, decided to^go through the programme, as nian'y could not have attended on another date. The racing was particularly good, every event having to be won, the only exception being the Maiden race won by J. Summers. The handicappers are to be particularly congratulated on the success of their work. The Secretary Mr T* Redmond attended to his many duties with promptness and the greatest good temper; the starters Messrs H. Bradcock and P. Dudson got through their task without a hitch ; Messrs T. P. Williams and B. Spelraan were the judges ; and Mr W. B. Rhodes attended to the boys and got up some outside races for their amusement. The Committee worked hard under the most trying of circumstances, and it says much for them that all the races were got off as advertised excepting the five for youngsters. The gates were not profitable but we are glad to learn that they were no loss to the purchaser. Mr Border did not do a roaring trade, the spectators being non drinking men and there was sufficient moisture outside without needing any inside. His luncheon however was appreciated and it was great convenience being able to obtain one on the ground. Yesterday's sports prove how much a meeting of this nature is appreciated as there were large acceptances. This, with the good running would have brought together a number of people had the weather been anything like " Queen's weather," but it was not. Following are the results : — 1.
