London. Since the German Emperor's recent speech on the Army Bill the rerelations between Bussia and Great Britain are reported to have become closer. Sir Robert Morier, British Ambassador at St Petersburg, has had frequent interviews with the Czar. The Emperor of Germany visits Scotland in July. A number of stones were aimed at Mr Gladstone as he was entering a railway carriage, but they went wide of the mark, and sma&hed windows in the adjoining carriage. At. a great Home Rule meeting in Hyde Park, resolutions denouncing "ifi obstruction of the Home Rule Bill by tbe Conservatives were carried. Great preparations are being made for Lord Salisbury's visit to Belfast and Derry. It is estimated that nearly a quarter of a million people attended the Home Rule meeting in Hyde Park. Members of the House of Commons spoke at 12 platforms. They hailed the prpspeet of a conflict with the House of Lords with delight, and claimed that the huge gathering that day indicated that the sympathy of the , bulk of the workers in Great Britain was with them. It is reported that Mr Gladstone, in an interview with the Queen, announced that he did not intend to ask lor a dissolution in the' event of the House of Lords rejecting the Home Rule Bill, but Her Majesty objected, and urged that an appeal to the country was necessary in the event of the -Bill being thrown out.
