■ . (from our own correspondent.) The annual meeting of householders was held at the schoolroom on Monday, 24th April,. Mr Hurley, Chairman of the retiring Committee, occupied the chair, and read the annual report and balance sheet. The report stated that the work done in the school was of excellent quality, as evidenced by the Inspector's re* port and the large number of children who secured passes in the first grade drawing exam. The grounds have been properly fenced, and gravel procured, and two substantial shelter sheds nave .been erected. In some cases the attendance was not so good as it ought to be, and the incoming Committee *7as recommended to take steps to improve matters. The most cordial relations existed between the Com* mittee and staff, and a vote of thanks was passed to the latter. There was a sum of £4 to the credit of the Committee. The annual concert and picnic were both unqualified successes. The election of the new Committee was then proceeded \yith, and resulted in the following gentlemen being elected : — Messrs James, Atkins, Sherratt, Hurley, Saint, Moffatt, and Hill. At the meeting of the new Committee held the same evening Mr Hurley was elected Chairmau. We have had about a fortnight's heavy rain, and it has made matters particularly unpleasant under foot, but as it is exactly what farmers want for their newly sown grass seed, I suppose we must "not grumble. There is to be a meeting of the newly formed Rugby Union here on Saturday night, when it if iq, be hoped that all Clubs which; propose joining will be represeirted," as the first round of the championship
