We hare shown how certain mathematicians proved how full the world would become if the present rate of increase wag continued for many years. France has set an example, as last year the excess of deaths over births was 9000. In fact as far as the French population in France was concerned the deaths would have shown an increase of 19,000 over the births, but the Italian and Belgian and other population were not go careful. Last year there were only 866,000 births as against 876,000 deaths. There were more marriages * than any year gince 1884 but not more children.
The late Jay Gould enjoyed certain luxuries. His steam yacht, the Atalanta, is one of the swiftest yachts afloat and is furnished like a palace. -* It ig now for sale for £50,000.
