Foxton Borough Council.
The usual monthly meeting of the above Council was held at the Library buildings yesterday afternoon. Presenfc-^The Mayor, (G. Nyej, Crs Williams, Stansell, Ahem, MePhersori, Austin, and McMillan. The minuted of the last meeting were read and confirmed.

Proposed by Or Williams, seconded by Or Bta,nsell, That Anderson's complaint be erkjiiiretV into t by the following councillors, McMillan* Stansell, and the Mayor.
Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Wiiiiams, HM tellers be called for cleaning out drains on Avenue road and Jenks' street. Ten derajp be in by the 14th April and the Works Cotttiflitfcee open and aceepfc tenders for said drains. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Austin, That the daymen be employed when at liberty to cut down the sand hill on No 2 Line near T. Bowe's hotise and put in new culvert on No 6 line of road. Proposed by the Mayor, saconded by Cr Williams, That a new oven ba fixed in the fireplace and the chimney be raised and put in a good state of repair at the old ferryhoUse".
Proposed by dr McMillan, seconded by the Mayor, That the siinl of ten pounds sterling be paid to the Library account 101* the use of offices and Council room.
Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Or Ahem, That the Clerk order tea pounds worth of books from W. Park for the Use of the Library, and Councillors McMillan, Austin and Stansell be a committee to select suitable books.
Proposed by Cr Williams, seconded by Cr Stansell, That honorarium of ten pounds be paid to the Mayor.
Proposed by Cr Williams, seconded by Cr McMillan, That Thomas Bowe's name be substituted for R. Stanley's as lessee for the Wirokino ferry, he baing bonda-raan for Stanley and the ten pouricls deposit be transferred from Stanley to Bowe as requested by R. Stanley in his letter of March the 29th inst.
Proposed by Cr McMillan, seconded by the Mayor, That the tender of Andrew Jonson be accepted for custodian and sexton for the Foxton Cemetery at £5 per annum.
Proposed by Cr McMillan, seconded by Cr McPherson, That the action of the Public Works Committee be approved of in providing for the working of the \Yirokino ferry from April first.
