Foxton Borough Council.

A special meeting of the above Council was held at the Library buildings yesterday at 2 p.m. Present— The Mayor (G. Nye), Crs Stahsell, Ahem, McPherson, Austin, and McMillan. Carting — John ,Anderson, (informal), 8s 6d per day 1 horse, 10s 6d per day 2 horses ; C. Spring, 9s per day 1 horse. .For .Repairs to Ferry-house— -A. Webb, £2 Bs. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Stansell, That C. Spring's tender for carting for one year at 9a a day be accepted. — Carried. : proposed by Or Stansell, seconded by Cr Austin^ That the tender 'of Messrs Dudson Bros, for ferry-house at 8s per week be accepted tor twelve months. — Carried. Proposed by Or Stansell, seconded by Cr Ahem, That the tender of Mr Robert Stanley for ferry at Wirokino at £122, subject to sureties being approved by the Mayor and Cr McMillan be accepted.— Carried. Proposed by Cr Austin, seconded by Cr Ahem, That the offer of Mr Webb for papering and whitewashing old ferry-house at £2 8s ba accepted.— Carried* ;
