ABRAHAM AND WILLIAMS' SHEEP FAIR.
Messrs Abraham and Williams held their annnal sheep fair on Friday at Palmerston. There was a large attendance of farmers. The following is ihe report :— Notwithstanding the rough .weather, the bulk of the sheep advertised came forward. A decided improvement was visible in the tone of the- market, mow particularly for lambs and 'voting ewes Every pen was sold with the exception. of a small pen of lamb? <for which good value was offered. The following prices were realised :— 4-tooth Romney ewes, 12s Id to 12s (Id ; Mv Willis 1 Romney ewes, 15s ; others, 10s id; 2-tooth ewts, 10s to Jls 6d ; 4-tooth ewe9 r l2s 7d ; full month ewes, 8s to 9s 8d ji&tQOitli 10s to lls ; woolly lambs, '£& <jd to 7s 8d ; wether lambs, 7s 8d lambs, 8s Id to 5s 3d ; Romney rams, 1$ to 2^ guineas ; Lincoln rams, 1 to 2 guineas.— Heruld. The same firm report under Saturday's date : -We held our usual fortnightly horse sale to day. There was a poor demand, and most of the horses were turned out unsold except the unreserved classes which brought full value. We so!d as under :— Upstanding hacks to £10 ; harness horses to £8 Shetland ponies, £5 ; others, £4 ; weeds and screws, £3 to £4 10s.
