Wellington Races.
The second day's meeting of the Wellington Racing Club was held on Thursday, the day fixed, Wednesday being too wefc. £7157 was put through the machine. The following are the results : — January Handicap of lOOsovs — Hon J". D. Ormondes, Free Lance, 1 ; Torpedo, 2 ; Violence, 3. A protest was laid against the winner by the owner of Torpedo, on the ground of invalid nomination, and another by Mr Freeth against Torpedo for a cross. Both were dismissed. Hurdle Handicap of 80 soys - J. A. Wilson's, Disturbance, 1 ; Jacob, 2 ; Paradox, 3 Hack Hurdle Handicap of 30sovs —P. F. Tancred's Oddfellow, 1 ; Twilight, 2 ; J immy, 8. Wellington Racing Club's Handicap of2oo-sovs- Hon J. D. Ormond's Qneen of Trumps, 1 ; Sfc Katherine, 2 ; Loch Ness, 8. Juvenile Handicap of SOsovs— Captain Russell's Noyade, 1 ; Persuasion, 2 ; Spinaway, 8. Hack Handicap of SOsovs — J. Ray's Welcome Nat, 1 ; Oddfellow, 2 ; Sea Serpent, 3. Selling Race of 50 soys — R. McKenzie's Viola 11, 1 ; Sweet Dream, 2 ; Fleta 3. The winner was bought in by her owner for £47. Metropolitan Handicap of lOOsovs —Dr Reed's Dreamland, 1 ; Krina, 2 ; Swordbelt 3.'
