Only two battalions will be sent to Egypt to reinforce the British troops, and those will remain in Alexandria unless there is a sreioua disturbance, it has been arranged that the second battalion of the South Lancashire Regiment shall go from Malta, and the first of the Black Watch from Gibraltar. 1 here is great excitement among the members of the N ational Liberal Chb owing to Mr Barry, M.P. in traducing as a member Egan, the dynamitard, recently released from gaol. The Rome correspondent of the Standard telegraphs that the Vatican has intimated to Mr Gladstone it is desirous to assist in procuring Home Rule for Ireland. Egan is released on parole* not pardoned i Pierce Mahoney and Matthew Kenny, Ms.P. had a quarrel in a Dublin court, which resulted in the latter getting a black eye. Mahoney alleged that Kenny had insulted hip mother. He was committed for trial on a charjre of assault, and was cheered by the crowd on leaving the court. The dispute as to the murder of a British subject at Morocco, is now closed.
