The Primitive Methodist Conference.
At the final draft of the Primitive Methodist Conference, at Ashburton, which finished its sittings last Friday, the following Ministers were appointed for this district: — Wei lington, Rev. C. Ward in his fifth year, and the Eev. «J. Barnett; Foxton, Rev. George Grindley from Denniston, and it has been arranged that the Eev. J. Baine goes to Denniston; Manawatu, Rev. J. Clements and Rev. G. Carr ; Hunterville Mission, Mr Henry Currin. Mr T. F. Gibson, the delegate to the Primitive Methodist Conference, returned on Tuesday afternoon by the coach. The conference was marked throughout by great enthusiasm. The delegates were met on arrival at the station with a peal of welcome from the English Church bells The welcome meeting was held in the evenio * of the same day when the Mayor and Borough Councillors and Major Steward, the Speaker of the House of Represen- 1 tatives, attended, and all spoke and held oat a hearty welcome. The delegates numbered nearly sixty and were receyied and en- j tertained by the settlers of differentnominations in the district.
