The Schooner Croydon Lass Ashore at Waitara.
The schooner Oroydon Laps, bound from Lyttleton to Waifcara with n cargo of flour, went ashore on Thursday morning on the South Beach while entering the Waitara River. The cargo was taken out of her, and hopes were entertained that she would be got oft" yesterday morning. Yesterday afternoon, however, the Marine Department received a telegram stating that the schooner was badly strained, and her hold full of water, and consequently she had been abandoned. The Lass is commanded by Captain Moore, and owned by Mr Abbott, of Takaka, Nelson.
