The following is a copy of a letter sent to the Minister of Public Works by J. G. Wilson, Esq., M.H.R. : -" I see some people in Htiwke's Bay are going to send a wool exhibit from New Zealand to the Chicago Exhibition and that some one has guaranteed space for it.— Sir R. The principal chief in Awa huri says that Te Kooti is like.ly to stay about four or five days, and quite a thou sand natives from all part* of the coa-^t will be pres nt. Tin advantages of such a quick rou;e in maintaining and streng hening the commercial relations between Givat Britain and the coloni-s are held to ba a strong justification for the early execution of the work.
