As the matter is of direct importance to you as regards the revenue derivable from ihe ferry this Council trusts you will promote some scheme to have the road in question made fit for traffic.
Chairman Wirikino Road Board, In view of the considerable obstruction to traffic and loss of revenue at the Shannon ferry in consequence of the bad state of the road from the ferry at Moutoa to Shannon. This Council respectfully draw the attentiou of your Board to the same and request they will take steps to have the road put in good order. I need scarcely point out the many advantages this work would give the settlers on both sides of the river and the benefit to the township of Shannon in particular.
A considerable sum of money has lately been spent on the new punb and gear atj\lout a, in which your ratepayers have a half interest, so that by carrying out this much needed work they would recoup themselves from the increased revenue the ferry would assuredly bring in.
