A discussion upon a Blenheim petition took up the first part of Monday's sitting, which resulted in the report being referred back to the committee.
Eeasons for disagreeing with the Council's amendment to the Land Bill and the Factories Act Amendment Bill were remitted to various committees to draw up The House agreed to the amendments made by the Council in the Servants' Begistry Offices Bill. A long discussion took place on the matter of John Lundon and the Natives, and Mr Kapa succeeded in getting his amendment " That in the opinion of this House the Government should compel John Lun-
don to refund the £743 illegally obtained in connection with the purchase of the Kaitaia Block," carried. On Tuesday the Payment of Members Bill was read a second time on a division by 32 to 28. The Native Land (Validation of Titles) Bill was considered in committee. The House on Wedne»day disagreed with the amendments made by the Council in the Shops and Shop Assistants Bill, and. the Industrial Conciliation Bill. , .'. The Council sent a message insisting on their amendments in the Land Bill and sending their reasons for so insisting. It was decided to ask for a conference. The Acting Premier mentioned that he intended, if possible to finish business this week. A further conference was ordered to be asked for with the Council on the Electoral Bill. The Native Land Validation of 'I itles Bill was read a third time. A long discussion took place of the Public Works Statement
