Meeting at Levin.

Last week a meeting was held by '- the Horowhenua County ! Some of those present then- 'expressed themselves, willing to pay their share of the disputed rate, and Mr Qower thought Mr Stuckey was ; entitled to three cheers, as what bad been brought out as the result of the dispute would prove the greatest blessing to Levin. , After further discussion, Mr Gower proposed, That the Horowheniia ' County Council bo requested to take ' steps to raise a loan of £5000 or more to complete the unfinished • portions of. the main road south of ; the northern boundary of Ihakara'a - reserve, and that, before a poll be taken, for such loan the Council have' *' it allocated to the different portion* 11 of the road, and en being put to the meeting was carried.
