MESSRS STEVENS AND GORTON'S STOCK REPORT.
We had large entries of cattle at our sa'e in Palmerston on Friday, but sheep were in very limited numbers. Female stock showed a disposition to come down in value, but others maintained recent rates. Fab cattle were in short supply and consequently made big money, two bullooks from the Oroua Downs estate making as much as £12 7s apiece. We quote as follows : — Cattle :— Fat bullocks, £7 Us to £12 7s ; fat heifers, £5 ; Syr steers, £4 17s ; heifers in calf, £3 15s to £5 Is ; cows in calf, £3 12s 6d to £4 ; empty heifers, £3 9s to £8 18s; empty cows, £3 13s ; yearlings, £2 5s to~£2 15s ; weaners, 38s to £2 Is ; 2yr steers. £3 4s to £3 18s ; dairy cows, £5 to £8 6s. Sheep : — Kat and forward wethers, 18s lOd : fat and forward ewes, 10a 3d to 18s 2d ; wether hoggets in wool, 13s Id ; ditto shorn, 12« 7d ; others, 7s lid to 12s sd ; ewes and lambs, 11s od.
Pig S : — Breeding sows, 17s 6d to 225.
