1.0. G.T.

A special meeting of the "Try Again " Lodge, 1.0.Gr.T., was held in the Masonic Sail on Thursday evening at 7 o'clock, and was largely attended. The District Deputy,' Br. R. Rush, had come by request^ from Palmerston to confer the District Lodge Degiee on a number of. members of the subordinate Lodge who had qualified themselves for the higher rank. Twenty-one Brothers and Sisters presented themselves for initiation, and the Degree was conferred upon them by Br. Rush in his usual faithful and impressive style 1 , assisted by the officers of the Lodge. Afterwards the Lodge was opened in the lower degree by the Chief Templar, and after the transaction of some necessary business, the member* went " into harmony," and a most enjoyable evening was spent. The District Deputy gave an earnest and encouraging address, which was highly appreciated by the large "family circle," and songs, readings, and recitations! all more or less good, were contributed by the following members : — Sisters Howe, Spring and Gray ; and, Bros. Betty, McLennan, Westwood, Walsh, Lewis and Chuck. At the close a hearty vote of thanks was passed by acclimation to Br. Rush for his valuable service. The " Try Again " Lodge is now the largest of ail the G.T. lodges on the coast.
