The Council then proceeded to deal with, the correspondence, received. .••..;■. ,It waa proposed by Cr Robinson, seconded by Cr Masters, That Cr Mitchell be allowed leave of absence •for this meeting, and was carried. Resolved, on the motion of Or Bobinson, seconded, by Cr Ransom, the alteration in rate -roll be "made according to Messrs Sanson'a application. Proposed by Cr Ransom, seconded by Cr McK'enzie, That Mr N. Rich's application as trustee of F. Rich for the tiame of C. Hopping for section ...58, Anders Persson for section 59, and C. Burgess for section 54, Douglas Block, be placed on rateroll instead of F. Rich.— Carried. The Council then adjourned for lunch until 2 o'clock. Upon resuming. Cr Saxon pro - posed, and Cr Masters stconded, That the overseer, with Cr Masters and Saxon see road complained of by Mr , Speedy, and report on the same at next meeting of the Council.
