Messrs Slevens and Gorton report as follows of their Palmers ton sale : - At our sale at Palmerston we had a small entry of cattle, principally ifat stock, but sheep Were xd 'forger number than is uspal at this time of the year. Ewes in lamb were rather dull of sale, buyers from a distance not caring to risk the trouble of lambs being dropped on the road. Hoggets, as was anticipated, w.ere well competed for and an improvement on recent, rateft'was manifest. With the exception of aue pen of ewes in lamb we sold the whole of the stock Offered. Cattle— Fat .bullocks (light) £6 11s ; fat cows (medium to good) £5 9s 6d to £6 18s 6d ; empty aows, £3 15s ; young dairy heifers in oalf, £2 12s to £4 ; yearlings, £2 10a; weaners, 81s to 80s. We have enquiries for good dairy oows. Sheep -■ Forward wethers, 13s to 14s; ewes in lamb (mixed ages) 9i to 14s ; aged ewes' in lamb, 5s to 7s 9d ; shorn' hoggets ((nixed sexes) lOi 4d to 10s- 7d; /weltibfed Lincoln wether hoggets, : 11* ldxj> woolly hoggets (mixed) 10»;to.lOa>10d.
