London. Mr Gladstone declines to listen to Mr Labouchere's suggestion that Home Rule should be postponed, and he will move a want of confidence on August 9th. Mr Cowen i» willing to oppose Mr Morely should the latter have to seek re-election. Upon scrutiny, the result of the Greenock election has been reversed and Sir T. Sutherland (Unionist) been declared eleoted by a majority of 52. Mr Chamberlain, in the course of a speech, said the Unionist Party will have no share in the shameful surrender of Ireland to Anarchy and disorder. Mr Carnegie interviewed upon the subject of the strike among his men, declined to express any opinion. He had not worked the business for three years, having confidence in his managers. It is reported that H.M.S. Champion has left Honolulu with orders to seize Cornwallis Islands, south* wast of Hawaii, for the purpose of a cable-station. The personality of the late Duke of Devonshire is sworn at under one million eight hundred thousand. It is to be divided among the family, the bulk going to the present Duke. The British medical Association has decided to admit women. Mr Gladstone is confined to his bed with cold. It is reported that he had a slight fit at Hawarden early in the week.
