Foxton Racing Club.
The annual meeting of members of the above Club was held at their office last Friday evening, a fair number being present.
Mr A. E. Nixon was elected to the chair, and called on the secretary to read the minutes of the previous meeting, after which they were confirmed^
The secretary (Mr J. E. McMillan) then read the following balancesheet: —
RECEIPTS.
Balanoe from last year, £36 0s 8d ; rent of course, £15; nominations and acceptances, £248 19s ; privileges; £186 18s 3d; totalisator, £847 4s 6d; members and train. ing fees, £84 12s 6d ; proceeds Novel race, £4 12a 8d ; total, £882 6s 6d.
EXPENDITTTBE.
Stakes, £680 ; printing and advertising, £61 48 lid ; improvements, and repairs, £14 12a 8d; labour and carting, £27 8s ; secretary £28 fig ; stamps, telegrams, exchange and stationary, £4 19s; band and luncheon, £29 Os 6d ; totalisator tax, £58 7s Bd.; insurance and rates, £8 ,ft| J6d £85 18s 2d ; total, £791 0s 7d ; balance to credit, ► £77 6s7d.-
Mr h Williams proposed, and Mr Cawston seconded, That the balance sheet be adopted.— Carried. The following new members were then proposed and duly elected : — Messrs Hamer, Outfield, S. Mr Stansell proposed — That members of the Club should be allowed the privilege of admitting two ladies to their race-meetinge. Hi* Williams
I seconded. : Mr McMillan proposed, as an amendment— That member's tickets should not admit more than one lady to the course. Mr Trask seconded.
On being p u fc to the meeting the ai »e^anient was declared carried.
A vote of thanks was tendered to Mr J. R. Eussell, the late secretary, for his past services, and it was unanimously resolved that ten guineas be presented to that gentleman.
Several other matters were left over for the Committee to deal with, the meeting to be held next week.
A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the meeting.
