A Mexican Maiden's Revenge.

..'. The Philadelphia Press prints a special despatch from Los Ojitos, in San Miguel County, New Mexico, which describes one of the most shocking outrages that ever took place in a district rather noted for nmailtable crimes. The parties all belong to .the Spanish- American population; which very often makes troub'e for thp constituted authorities. Jot 6 Pedro, a young Spanish rancher, who owned several square leagues of land in San Miguol, was the suiter of Isabella Marani, the wedding day having been fixed for the middle of April. Just before the ceremony the bridegroom's feelings underwent au alteration, and there was no wedding, though all the preparations for it had been made. He carried this slight so far as to many another young woman, Ang.lica Montzan, and Senorita Marani was quite as angry, if not bloodthirsty, as the average Mexican maiden is wont to be on such occasions. Last Saturday she rode over to Pedro's ranche during the siesta, entered the house, and, as she expected, found both the bride and bridegroom.' taking their , af fcerM^gleep. She chloroformed both of^Btem. and' quickly cut their tontjHj out. She then rode away at'fu^M|eed, but an alarm being given sqpwas quickly pursued by a "United States Marshal. He called at her h'use to arrest her, and found her apparently quiet and docile. Wbea he put his hand on her shoulder, however, to lead her out of the house the infuriated girl stabbed him in the breast and he dropped to the floor dying. He had been stabbed through the heart. The murderess is now under arrest, but the conv ction prevails that she is insane. Pedro and his wife will recover, but will never be able to articulate'.
