The American Strikes.

l?he armed miners 111 Idaho have seized 100 non-Unionists.

The President has given orders to reinforce the troops in the district.

The miners of Idaho seized the adjutant of the troops as a hostage. The Government of Idaho has declared the Beise Country in a state of rebellion.

Twelve corpses of non-Union men have been found in a ravine.

The strikers have tak^n possession of the mines, and are terrorising the whole district. They blew up a railway bridge at Mullan with dynamite in order to prevent the troops getting up, and threaten to blow up four mines in the event of an attack.

They hold two of the mine owners as hostages.
