Messrs Stevens and Gorton report : — About 200 head or cattle came forward to our sale at Pahiatua on the 4th inst. Store cattle were in fair demand at recent rates. At Palmerston. — Fat bullocks, £6 5s 6d ; fat cows, £± 9s 6d to £4 15s ; forward steers, i' 47s 6d ; 2 to 3 3 r ear steers, £3 16s ; yearling steers, £2 8s ; mixed weaners, £1 11s 6d to £2 0s 6d ; empty cows, £3 5s to £4 Is ; well-bred heifers, forward in calf, £5 2s 6d to £5 103 6d. . Sheep. — Forward wethers, 12s ; 2-tooth ewes in lamb, mixed ages, 11s 6d to 14s Id ; others, 6s 6d to 10s 2d ; shorn ewe lambs, 9s 6d ; small Shropshire lambs, 6b 3d. We held a very successful sale at Sanson on 6th inst. A good class of sheep came forward for which the bidding was spirited and most of the lines wore sold under the hammer. We quote — Cattle— Fat cows, £& 7s 6d ; heifers in calf, £3 8s 6d ; store cows, £2 10s. Sheep — Fat wethers, 18s 6d to 14s 3d ; forward wethers, 12s ; store wethers, 10s 6d ; woolly hoggets, 11s 4d ; shorn, 9s to 16s 7d ; ewes in lamb, various prices, from 7s to 12b 2d ; fat ewes, 10s.
