The Dahomey troops are advancing on Porto Novo. The French Garrison is w«ak, and has asked urgently for reinforcements. France has extended her protection to the revolting tribes in Morocco, and the Sultan is much alarmed.

Eibot, Foreign Minister, has requested the English Societies to withdraw their missioneries from Algeria in order to prevent the necessity of their expulsion owing to the pvoselytism of the Musaulem. Prince Von Bismark promises a stronger criticim of the AngloGerman policy of the government if force is attempted to be applied
to him
The Portuguese Government, replying to Germany, declares that if their creditors had to be paid in full shortly, it would be impossible to pay anything. It is reported that Great Britain, Spain dM Italy have secretly agreed upon the partition of Morocco. Five thousand people have fled from Baku to avoid the cholera.
In a milder form cholera has appeared both in Fiance and Austria. In Paris 12 deaths are recorded. The cholera epidemic is advancing on Moscow.
