Clements Tonic.
For some considerable time there have been appearing in our oolumns articles and testimonials upon the value of Clements Tonic. An olcl lady once said "Yes, I out every good thing I see in, the papers, but what puzzles me is that the begt articles end .by mentioning some cure." The old lady was right in what she said,,, though perhaps without knowing it, as the best articles to many sufferers must be those .which bring relief and cure to them in the end. People, are pleased to designate medicines that are extensively aflveji'tised, as " f « quack " medicines, simply became, -r they follow the medical fraliemityj 'a^^qne sheep follows another. It ,njus{;' be understood that medicines; wlji(;h|tUe doctors choose to call " quapk<" are those which the owners dp r not care to . give the paitipularjs -.fit * the ingredients ,to the [Medical College, and because the , free use of one man's discovery-is.mot placed fully at the' disposal of one and all who style themselves doctors of medicino, they will have none of it, and do their best to discourage the use of it. Amongst these " quack " nostrums are to be counted the marvellous " Mattei " • remedies, which the English press- have =at last forced upon the doctors of . Lon don to at any rate put upon a careful trial, though until the press,, took the matter up, they scornfully neglected, because, Count 'VMattei." objected to disclose the ingredients pf the medicine. As with one patent mixture so with others, .and the one we are more fully referring to now, Clements Tonic, is simply ignored by the faculty for similar reasons. The proprietor, finding that those who generally>ttend .the f ßi©k v den3r ; them of the- chattels ofi speddyj relief, by prescribing the Toniei has, atft great expense, to bring the facts^ jcohfceirhing his Tonic under the notice of ihe intelligent ,p.tiblic/ ]by; cobstant 4 $&% vertisiug, and thougE.'by that;, 'he has his reward, yet without hif^doing so thousands would be Unaware of hia discovery.
We are not going to aay that Clements Tonic will cure all ills, as h,e himself does not pretend that it Viil,"WTt r< -at' I; -Anfi, t -ibe/'lWfli. of much value in a great variety of cases, vtfan? of whictt. wilt js ddTy quoted. The proprietor is not placing btfove the public eolpwd^fttev;; simply to take their money aud pay
his advertising bills, but Clements Tonic is prepared by Air T. M. Clements, who is a properly qualified Pharmacist and a member of the Pharmacental Societies of the Colonies of Victoria arid New South Wales. The Tonic is a real and genuine article; and costs more to manufacture than any other patent medicine sold at the same price. All we advise is that a trial be given, the cost is little, and its benefit might be worth much, and a trial of Clements Tonic may lead to a marked .improvement in the patient's life.
