Prohibition in Dunedin.
The City Licensing Bench unexpectedly intimated at the annual i meeting that the licenses for the following hotels would be taken away on the ground that they were not required in the neighbourhood : — The" Newmarket hotel ; Manor place ; Grange Hotel, Hanover street ; National Hotel, King street ; York Hotel, George street ; London Hotel and Wains' Hotel, Princes street ; Occidental Hotel, High street ; White Horse Hotel, George street ; and Liverpool Arms Hotel, Filleul street. On the application of the counsel
the Bench adjourned its decision for a fortnight in all these cases. The licensee of the Caledonian Hotel, Walker street, withdrew his application.— Preps Association.
