London. The English wheat market has experienced a general decline, the Continental is steady, and the American firm. Bear Admiral E. C. Mayne, M.P., for Pembroke and Haverford West, died suddenly on Saturday from a fit of apoplexy, with which he was seized shortly after leaving the Mansion House banquet, given in honour of the Queen's birthday. The colliery owners have ac cepted the proposal of the Bishop of Durham, who urged that the 10 per cent reduction in wages should stand and the other 3^ per cent be re - ferred to arbitration. It is reported that the men are willing to accept these conditions. Earls Aberdeen and Eysart and
others hava written a letter to The Times urging help for General Booth's colonial scheme.
