The meeting in connection with the above Olub took place on Tuesday last. The weather was not all that could be desired, consequently the attendance was not as large as it might have been. The course was very heavy, and the time registered for the different events was slow. Punctuality was not by any means observed with the starting, the last race baing run almost in the dark. Over £1200 was put through the totalisator, which was worked by Mr Ames, of Wellington. The dividends were good all day, the favourite never getting home first in
" jiny event.. The doable win of Mr; Ransfield Tangik'ai in tHe ttfo principal events was received with great ovation by the Natives. The officials all worked hard for the success of the meeting, and are to be congratulated on the result of their efforts. Two protests were lodged against St. Helier to prevent him from starting ■ in the Hurdle Race until two claims ! were paid for riding fees, and the I Stewards very properly upheld them. and refused* to allow him to start unless the amount was paid. Open to horses that ho-vo never wou a hack i\ice of any description during the present racing season. To start at 11.30 am. Mr J. Wilson's Poinsettia Bst 21b (A. Hall) 1 Mr J. Green's Bloomsbury Bst 51b (Morris) 2 Mr H. Henry's Cameo 7st 111 b (A. Carmont) ... ... 3 Carrier Senator, Luna, Omahu, Outer, Pharmacist, Lady Clair, Comfort, Waiwiri, Granny and Lady Bell also started. From an uneven start Bloomsbury and Poinsettia, were first away and had the race to themselVe3 all the way. Half way down the straight Poinsettia forged away from Bloomsbury and won all out by a length, Cameo a good third, Senator heading the next division. Dividend £12 13s. SrawAßrs' Handicap, of 25 soys ; second horse to receive 5 soys from the stakes ; distance J mile. Nomination, 15s; acceptance, 10s. To start at 12 15 p.m. Mr R. Ransfield's Tanikai 6st 181 b (J. Hall) ... .. 1 Mr Whiteman's Jenny Lind ... 6st 131 b (Keek) 2 Mr Hunia's J-Tuia Bsfc Gib (H. Walls) 8 Oddfellow, Sunbeam, Homai, The Gunner, Shellback, Traitress and May Queen also ran. AVhen the flag fell Homai, Homai and Sunbeam were quickest to move, followed by Huia, Tangikai, Traitress, Oddfellow, Shellback and May Queen in that order. Turning into the straight Huia looked all over a a winner, having a good three lengths lead. Tangikai and Jenny Lind were soon in pursuit, and half way down the straight Tangikai had ~) them all settled, and coming on full of running won by three lengths. Homai fell over a dog in the straight and broke W. Retter's collarbone. Dividend £1§ 7s. First Hurdle Handicap, of 30 soys ; second borae to receive 5 soys from the stakes ; distance, one mile and three-quarters. Nomination, 1 soy ; acceptance, 10s To start at 1 p.m. Mr W. Humphries' Auroa 9st 111 b (A. Hall) 1 Mr U. Marnmaru's Songster list 71b (Jillett) 2 Mr T. Bevan's Waiwiri 9st (Wright) 8 Songster led over the first fence followed by Waiwiri, Marama aud Auroa last. No material change occurred until coming over the second to last fence when the quartette closed together. Auroa aud Songster jumped the last fence together, but the heavy weight was telling on the latter, and from this out Auroa had things all his own way, and won by a length from Songster, Waiwiri a poor third, Marama pulling up. Dividend £8 9s. HOROWHENUA CUP HANDICAP, of 35 soys; second horse to receive 5 soys from the stakes ; distance, one mile and a half. Nomination, 1 soy ; acceptance, 15s. To start at 2 p.m. Mr R Eansfield's Tangikai 6st 111 b (Carmont) 1 Mr J. Green's Sunbeam Bsfc 91b (Morris) 2 Mv J. Wilson's Poinsettia 7st (Crook) ... 8 Homai, fluia, Shellback, Ben Bolt, Gunner, Rahui, Priscilla and Jenny Lind also started. This was the best start of the day, Rahui and Tangikai were quickest on their legs, but when they settled down Tangi kai had an advantage of a length, followed by Pahui, Piiscilla, Gunner, Poinsettia and Jenny Lind in that order. Passingthe stand the order was .<* the same. At the back of the course the field closed up, but Tangikai still maintained his lead, Poinsettia and Sunbeam being his closest attendants. The positions were not altered much from this out, Mr Rausfield's horse winning by a length, Sunbeam gaining second place by a head from Poinsettia. Dividend £5 2s. Second Hurdle H-ndicap, of 15 soys ; second horse to receive 2 sivs from the stakes ; distance, one mile and a quarter Nomination, 20s. Weights will he dec'nred nffcev the First Hurdle Handicap, is m.r >n. Acceptance, * 6s ;to lie notified fifteen minutes aftor the wek-hts are posted up. Mr J. Better's Omahu 9st 51b (A. Hall) 1 Mr V. Marumaru's Songster list 71b (Jillett) 2 Mr F. . Bills' Minnie Clyde 9st 51b (McTaggart) 8 Barlow also ran. Songster led all jkhe way until the straight was reached, when Omahu was taken to: to the front and won by a length, the other two being several lengths away. Dividend £2 18s. !

Mr Priugle's Ben Bolt, £30 (Armstrong) ... ••• 1 Mr Pringle ; s Kahili, £20 (Murtagh) -.2 Mr Campbell' Traitress, £30 (James) ... .. ... 3 Lola and Baker also started. Traitress was first away and when half the distance had been traversed she was leading by three lengths. Entering the straight Itahui and Ben Bolt tackled the grey mare, and from the distance post Ben Bolt forged ahead and won by half a length from Rahui, Traitress a good third. Dividend £5 ss.

Mr J. Green's Bloomsbury Mv Whiteman's Jenny Lind
Mr H. Henry's Cameo ... 3 May Queen, Marama, Alcione, Senator, Guess, It Unity, Gipsy and Lady Olair also started. This race was run in the dark, and it was impossible to tell the positions of the horses until they were near the winning post. Bloomsbury won easy. Dividend £3 15s.
