The results of tbe business for tbe Forfy-first year, ending 31st December, 1889, may be Bummarised as under: — First— The number of the new policies issued was 11,(564. Fourth— The net increase to the business after allowing for loss of income from terminated Policies, was represented by 7028 policies, assuring £2,109,199. Seventh — The deaths among lives assured were 649 under 785 p Hoio?, causing claims upon th« Society amounting to £299,602 irrespective of Bonus additions, whilo the number ex| ecteJ according to the Tables ustd in estimating the liabihti's would have been 1143, for an amount of £438,976, the mortality experience being thus extremely favourable.
