OTAKI MAORI RACING CLUB.
The above Club held their Autumn Hack meeting yesterday (Easter Monday). The weather was simply glorious, and the attendance waa good. Many improvements have been made since lust meeting, a neafc grandstand has been erected, also a new stewards room, jockeys room, and many other conveniences. The courteous secretary, Mr H. F. Eager, waa very obliging to all those who were brought in contact with him, and carried out his duties as they should be. The other officials all worked hard for the success of the meeting which was doubly achieved. The racing was good, some of the finishes being very close. The following are the results : — Flying Haxdicp, of 25 soys, Homal (McTaggart) J Ben Bolt (Greenough) . g Wai win (Carmont) .... 8 Huia and Katarina also started. Won easily by two lengths. Time, lmin 19 2-sth sees.: Dividend, £1 16s. Fitst Hurdles, of 35 sovs\ Songster (Better) 1 St. Holier ( lanch) ... 2 Mataiwhetu (Prosser) ... 3 Roger was the only other starter. Songster led all the way and won easily by four lengths. Time, 3inin 57secs. Dividend, £2. Maiden- Plate, of 25 soys. Houp La (late 1 almaceda) 1 Rungihau . . . . . . 2 Gnes It . . ... . . 3 Luna and Omahu also A good race, Houp La winning all out by a length Time, linin 47seo. Dividend, £11. Otaki Maori Handicap, of 65 soys. Slave Girl (G. Walls) . . 1 Homai (McTaggart) ... 2 Otakapau (Montague) ... 3 Tangikai and Rahui also started. Tangikeifell at the back of the course. Slave Girl got home by half a length from Homai, Otakakau being three lengths away third. Dividend, £2 3.8. Second Hurdles, of £20. Songster (Ratter) 1 Rotakare ... ... ... % - St. Helier and Minnie Clyde also started but both fell. Songster led all the way and won by 30 lengths Dividend, £2. Welter Handicap, of 20 soys. Mataiwhetu (P^osser) ' ... 1 Otakapau ... ... ... 2 Granny ... ... ... 3 These were the only starters. Mataiwhetu won comfortable by two lengths. Dividend, £1 18s. Stewards' Handicap, of 30 soys.
