Johnsonville, April 13.
Pat cattle came 'forward in large numbers. The bullocks were fair, and of even quality throughout, and sold steadily at quotations. The heifers were perfect specimens of their kind, and no finer draft ever entered a sale yard. The prices hardly reached expectations, owing no doubt, to the fact of their being more suitable, in consequence of their size, for winter use than for the warm weather. Sheep were fairly numerous. Light wethers have receded in value, while on the other hand well fatted to heavy weights sold freely. No pigs were to hand.
Cattle.— Bullocks, £6 10s to £7 ;
Sheep. — Prime wethers, 17s ; others, 14s to 14s 5d ; fat ewes, 13s 6d ; shorn lambs, 7s 9d to 8s lid.
