Sports Committee.
A meeting of the Sports Committee was held at the Manawatu Hotel last evening, when it was decided to make an active canvas for funds next week.
Messrs Keen and Gerbes attended on behalf of the Foxton Band and asked the assistance of the committee in getting up another concert in aid of the Band.
The Chairman pointed out that it was not generally known that the instruments were invested on behalf of the public in the Borough of^ Foxton.
It was decided to make arrange - menfcs to hold a concert on the evening of the 18th April.
Proposed by Mr Jenks, seconded by Mr P. Dudson, That any proceeds of the sports left over, as well as the proceeds of the conceit be handed over to the Mayor on behalf of the Band fund.
The Bandmaster 'Mr Betty be asked to forward a programmee to the Committee who could get printed if thought advisable/4^ The Chairman c.omplimenMr he Band on their playing aT'ihe^ Regatta. It was resolved That notice be given through the paper that the Jtfaud will attend the Sports.
