Strange Sheep Feed.

One of the oddest uses to which dead rabbits can be put is surely that of converting them into sheep fodder, and, unlikely as it may appear, this has happened. A gentleman who has had many years ezperienee in sheep- farming in Central Australia sends me the following extract from a station situated near the Darling. He vouches for the honesty of the writer, and having some Blight acquaintance with him, I can support the statement that he is not a likely man to write an untruth. I may mention that the letter wag written to an intimate friend and relative and not with the view of any portion of it being published; The following is the extract : — "My rams in going out to the north well the other day pretty well cleared the road of dead rabbits, and when they got to the well, where some hundreds were poisoned and in stacks, they fought like demons over them. As yet I have not heard of any ill effeots fr6m the feast. I have seen ewes chewing bits of bunny, but took no notice oi ' it. I knew that they will greedily eat grasshoppers on cold mornings when the hopper is too stiff to get away." This is 1 an instance of a number ot sheep exhibiting a perverted appetite, but the curious part af it is that th« poisoned food -did not kill the rams. — AwtraUuian ■■■
