Bulls Ram and Sheep Fair.
On Tuesday Messrs Stevens & Gorton held their annual fair at Bulls. Fourteen thousand five hundred sheep were yarded, and the majority sold. The Lincoln ranis from the Heaton Park estate realised the highest prices. 8-tooth selling from 2£to 4£ guineas, 4-tooth from 2£ to 3£ guineas, Mr Morrison's rams ranged, for 2 tooth from 2 to 4£ guineas. Mr Pearce's fetching for 2 tooth from 2 to 8£ guineas. Mr Couper's Romneys 2 tooth sold at 1£ guineas, and Mr Wheeler's from 2b to 8| guineas, Border Leicester's 2 tooth sold from 2 to 2b guineas. The Advocate says : — The quality of sheep put np was very good, being superior to what has been offered of late at the monthly sales. The prices realised were very good, and in this department the sale was the most succesafnl that has been held for some time, a very large percentage of the sheep offered being sold. Two-tooth ewes brought 14/1 ; mixed ages, 18/ ; fall mouth, 11/-. Wethers brought 12/4, and store wethers 10/11. Lambs — mixed sexes, 8/10 ; wethers, 8/1 ; shorn, 7/2 ; mixed ages, woolly, 8/10.
