The Farmers' Alliance.
A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Farmers' Alliance, Ltd., was held in the company's premises at Waterloo Quay on Tuesday last. There were present — Mr Martin, Chairman, Mr Baker, MrWhitcombe, Mr Phillips and Mr Gardner. Mr L. C. Williams, of Christchurch, who had been appointed manager, was also present and was introduced to the members. Mr. Williams 'reported that ho had received a very favourable offer from the N.Z. Farmers Co-operative Association, Christchurch, for the disposal of any wool going forward to London this season. Some little business had already been transacted; there had been consigned and were now in the stove about 85 bales of wool and advice had heen received of more coming forward besides a quantity of grain which had been Consigned and dispoied of at satisfactory prices. Certain alterations in the premises were suggested by Mr Williams, but were still under his consideration. The directors expressed a hope, that the shareholders would support the management by doing all their business with the company. Only by so doing could the success of the. company be ensured, notwithstanding; whatever efforts might be put forward. The seal of the company was affixed to the share certificates and the same were ordered to be delivered to the shareholders. The manager was appointed public officer in terms of the Land and Income r tax Assessment Act. Mr Jardine continues to act as Secretary.
